As per our access policy (http://himmelfarb.gwu.edu/about/access.cfm): " Students in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS) including the Institute for Biomedical Sciences (IBS), graduate students and declared undergraduate majors in the Milken Institute School of Public Health (GWSPH), and students in the School of Nursing (SON) have unrestricted Library access.
All University faculty have unrestricted access. Staff of the SMHS, GWSPH, and SON have unrestricted Library access.
GW Hospital staff may use the Library upon presenting their Hospital ID.
Other University students and staff do not have physical access to Himmelfarb Library.
University students requiring access to physical reserve materials for SMHS, GWSPH, and SON courses, working for departments, or whose instructors in the above schools have made special requests for access should contact the Circulation Coordinator at 202-994-9453 to arrange access.
Non-GWU consortium students do not have automatic access to Himmelfarb Library. Non-GWU consortium students enrolled in classes in the three schools served by Himmelfarb and requiring access to the physical collection will be admitted upon the request of their professors. Professors must provide the library with a list of these students each semester so that they can receive semester access. Alumni of The George Washington University Schools of Medicine and Health Sciences (SMHS), Milken Institute Public Health (GWSPH) and Nursing (SON) are admitted to the Library from 8:00AM to 6:00PM Monday through Friday except holidays.
